First Layout Finished in 2011

Hi Everyone! The beginning of the year is always a great time to reflect on goals. I ended 2010 in a little bit of a creative ditch and I really wanted to redirect my crafting goals for 2011. After a lot of thought I kept coming back to one thing... I want to scrapbook MORE. I think I did one layout in 2010 and that is just not enough. Not even close. My kids are growing so fast and their memories and my memories need to be scrapped. No question about it. So, I bring you my first layout finished in 2011.

My favorite scrapbookers are Laura Vegas, Nichol Magourik, Jennifer McGuire and Robyn Werlich. You'll see a lot of their influence on my beginning pages but I hope to develop a style all of my own as I progress. But what's most important to me is that I'm scrapping memories.

I created snowflakes for my layout with a few punches that were stamped with text from Penny Black's Crystalline clear stamp set. I also stamped a few snowflakes from the set with Versamark Ink around the larger embellishents to create a flow across the page.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh my gosh! He is so cute! Look at that face! One of my favorite things when my boys were little was discovering the world all over again through their eyes. His fascination with the snow is priceless! You've created a layout that is so perfect for the photos, Ashley! Love this! I look forward to seeing more of your pages!

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store! www.mamaelephant.com I am so excited to share the new stamp set Ella & Friends with you! There are so many fun images to choose from in this set that all centers around the BEST elephant stamp ever. ;) I started my scene by stamping the elephant, then I masked in the bunny and bubble blower. Finally, I stamped the bubbles, puddle and splashes. I was SO fun to create. I colored the images with Copics and added a little ink to complete my scene. I trimmed it down to fit inside of the Instalove Creative Cuts and stamped the sentiment. I know you'll agree that stamping this set is super fun but first... To celebrate the new release, Mama Elephant is picking 3 winners to win their choice of stamp set! Winners will be chosen at random from the collective blogs in the Stampede.
