Avery Elle: Storybook

Have you seen this adorable new set from Avery Elle? Storybook is the perfect addition to all the cuteness of spring. I haven't been able to put it down yet! The bunny is definitely my favorite though. Totally sweet.

I paired the die cut bunny (yes, there are dies to match!) with the little bee. This would make a great card OR a perfect insert for pocket scrapbooking. :) I actually might use mine for my daughter's baby book. Oh the possibilities.

Heather Campbell (you already know THE Heather Campbell, right? Go To Gal extraordinaire!) drew this set and has also made some AMAZING cards with it. Check out her blog HERE you won't regret it.

Bella Blvd: What's New Wednesday

I'm still having a great time playing with all of the Bella Blvd collections from CHA. The product always seem fresh and new to me. Maybe it's because all the collections work so well together the possibilities seem endless.

I mixed all four collections (Molly, Max, Family Forever and Lucky Starz) for this fun card.

All the tab stickers in the Bella Blvd collections have been a HUGE favorite of mine lately. Have you noticed? I stick them everywhere! :)

Next up I wanted to spend some time with a new trend I've been spotting in blog land. CURVES! THE perfect die for this is in Quotable Dies by Paper Smooches. I used it to cute the 3 colored star papers on the bottom. More curves are in my future! lol

The Candid Card I used for my sentiment is so cute. However, the red heart on the card wasn't working with my color scheme so I popped on a heart sticker which ties it in with the pink stars plus it adds some much needed dimension. Fun, right?

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Tangles: Challenge 34 Masking

The new Little Tangles challenge is up! It's a fun and easy challenge all about masking!

It seems like its baby season lately. I'm not pregnant but it's been fun to hear about new babies being born and babies on the way! With all the baby news around I had the idea to make a card after all the gender reveal parties I've seen. I especially love the "balloon release". :)

My card takes after that idea and has balloons flying from a box. This would work to congratulation an expecting couple or would also make an awesome birthday card. I used a simple mask to cover the balloons and then I stamped the string image.

I hope you'll play along in this fun challenge! Check out all the details on how to play HERE. I can't wait to see what you create! Thanks or stopping by!

Create Paper: Notepad and Pencils

I love keeping little notebooks around the house. I keep track of grocery lists, to-dos, ideas and more. Customizing these notebooks is pretty and practical. Let’s get started and I’ll show you how fun they are to make plus a few pencils to match!

I like a smaller sized notebook so mine measures 4 inches by 6 inches. I started with a piece of cardstock that was cut to 4 by 8 ¼ inches. I scored and folded the card stock lengthwise at 4 inches and 4 ¼ inches.

Next, I embellished the front using products from Oh Darling and Styleboard. The positive words and the cheerful images were combined to make list keeping a little more joyful and less of a chore. You could also use products to coordinate with your d├ęcor or style of your room.

The inside is simple and organized. I trimmed down lined paper and added some patterned paper at the top. This was stapled to the back cover of my notebook and then covered with a cork sticker from Styleboard. The other side is filled with a few sticky notes and a arrow cork sticker to match.

My favorite part to this project is the pencil! Two longs stripes of Gold Foil Kraft Tape from the Styleboard collection fit perfectly! You could stop there and have a super trendy writing tool but I decided to add a little more fun with a die cut feather tied on with twine. I added some strong adhesive under the feather so it won’t slip while I’m taking notes.

With a small notebook and a coordinating pencil you have the perfect addition to your home or you can make it a gift. What a wonderful present this would be for a friend, co-worker or teacher! Let’s explore a couple more style options.

For this notebook I went a little more graphic but kept it girly with the pretty flower covered in glitter.

Letter stickers can be added to personalize the notebook even further with what it will be used for or even someone’s name. I couldn’t resist making another pencil with a coordinating feather to complete this gift.

Let’s not forget about the boys! My son loves to write down his inventions, drawn pictures, write stories and wish lists. I used Boys Rule to make him a notebook that he’ll know is all his! I even personalized it with his first initial and his very own customized pencil.

Creating lists and writing down to-dos can be a lot more fun in something customized and handmade. I hope you’ve been inspired today to make a notebook! Happy creating!

Little Tangles: Envelope Challenge

The new Neat & Tangled challenge is up over at Little Tangles! Are you ready?

I have been waiting, waiting and waiting for a cool street sign stamp set. Neat and Tangled's On the Corner and Stop and Go are exactly what I was waiting for and more. :) They are super hip, super fun...and sell out super fast! Ha! It took me a few times waiting for a new shipment to come in but I FINALLY got them. Yay. Okay, on to the card...

I stamped the card with On the Corner. The adorable journaling card and patterned paper are from the new Dear Lizzy collection Day Dreamer. I stamped the street sign in grey and then colored it in a warmer grey. When I was coloring I made sure to stay in the lines, rather then cross them so you can still see the fun detail of the stamp.

Next, I made a coordinating envelope with Stop and Go. The "for" sentiment is perfect for the front of an envelope. Now it's ready to be addressed!

I can't wait to see what you create! I'm committing to stop by EVERY PERSONS BLOG WHO ENTERS THE CHALLENGE this week. So I'll see you  over on your blog soon! :)

Bella Blvd: Creating a Long Title

I can't say it enough. I LOVE creating sentiments with Bella Blvd stickers and journaling cards. I was challenged to make a few cards with long sentiments. Fun right?

I love all the stickers included in Max. As I was looking through them I thought it would be fun to make a list of things a boy should "be". This would also make a super cute journaling card to include in a pocket style scrapbooking album. Hmmmm. :)

Next up I turned to the girly side of things. ;) On this card I started with the journaling card and then found ways to extend it. The "sweet" label was creating by cutting off the bottom of the tab. I love the tab but I label fit much better in the space I had. :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Card Creations Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Welcome to the Paper Crafts Card Creations Volume 2 blog hop! This is such a fun magazine. I've already been through my copy a few times and it's AMAZING! So much inspiration. It makes you want to craft, and that's a good thing!

If you're hoppin' along you should have come from Kalyn Kepner's blog. I always love what she creates!

We all are working with a sketch for this hop. I chose this one....

I didn't match the pieces exactly but I was inspired by the angles. Geometric designs are so trendy right now.

To make the card I cut up 4 different patterned papers from Studio Calico's Wanderlust 6x6 paper pad. I purposely chose patterns that were different but didn't compete. I didn't want a super busy card. I layered them all on a text weight paper then adhered them to a cardstock base. The final step was to add my sentiment and embellishments.

To celebrate Card Creations Volume 2 Paper Crafts is letting me GIVEAWAY one copy of this special issue to someone that comments on my blog! If you are in the USA Paper Crafts will mail you the issue. International winners will get a digital copy. Just comment with your FAVORITE THING right now for a chance to win! Entries will be accepted until March 11th! Please check back on the 12th to see if you won or make sure your comment has a way that I can contact you! :)

Next on the hop is the talented Katie Gehring! Have fun hoppin'!
