Mama Elephant: Tags A Lot

Hi Everyone! Ashley here introducing one of the newest Creative Cuts, Tag a Lot!

This die set is packed full of some amazing tags and more! I used two of the tags here to ground the adorable lion from Carnival Cupakes. Did you notice the sweet scallops and trendy stitching details on the tags?!?

The sentiment is from In My Heart and fits perfectly in the word bubble from Polaroid Fun.

These new tag dies are front and center on my desk because I love them so much! I know you'll love them too. ;)

Bella Blvd: What's New

Bella product is arriving in stores! I've spied some over here at A Cherry On Top in case you are looking. ;)

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I think Hello Autumn is my favorite fall collection of all times. The colors are amazing!

I die cut the small square using Paper Smooches new Stitched Frame Dies. Then I layered the zig zag sticker tab, the paper piece acorn and some of my favorite papers.

I started with the Daily Details Hello Autumn paper (because I LOVE those blue flowers) and then picked papers that fit the focal image (easy to do when they all coordinate!).

Next up is a card using the adorable Halloween Magic collection. Seriously cute! I used the borders paper for the base of my card. I love finding "hidden" sentiments on patterned paper and highlighting them with embellishments. That's just what I did on this card, surrounding Happy Halloween with washi tape and a variety of stickers!

Crate Paper: Minimally Made

Creating projects with a minimal approach can be so refreshing for your creativity. I started by searching on Pinterest, looking quickly at pictures returned with searches like "minimal" and "simple". Once I had an idea of my direction I dove in to my projects.

First, I created a card with the new collection Notes & Things. For me, on my first project, minimal meant leaving off extra embellishments. No string, no washi tape, no stitching, no enamel dots or sequins. Layering, but in a simple and clean way. I also tried to limit my choices of product, just sticking to one patterned paper, my tags and a few other things.

When I arranged my tags I specifically chose to layer the white, sentiment tag between the two colored tags. This highlights the sentiment without having to add extra stitching, tape or other embellishments.

Next, I went to the minimalist extreme with some super fun results! The Notes & Things Accent Stickers make perfect, simple, embellishments when placed on top of jumbo paper clips. Just one sticker placed on the paper clip makes a sweet bookmark or can be added to a larger project. They can be reinforced on the back with adhesive.

I went ahead and added one of my clips to a simple cookie wrap. I cut and scored a piece of 12 x 12 paper to fit my cookie. The cookie is fasten in the inside, wrapped in a sandwich bag. With just one journaling card and my clip this makes the perfect, easy gift.

I hope you've been inspired to try a few minimal projects of your own. You can create a project with less product than you are used to or take it to the extreme and see what you can do with just few supplies. Happy crafting!

Paper Smooches: Cookie Jar

Happy Saturday! I'm really enjoying the new Paper Smooches release. There are so many stamps that are perfect for the upcoming gift giving season. :)

I created my cookie jar with the new Just for You stamp set. I cut out a little patterned paper, rounded the corners and stamped the label. Then I stamped the label again and added the sentiment. I trimed out the sentiment label so there was a small grey border and popped it up on top of the patterned paper, larger label. Super easy and fun. I finished the jar with some washi tape around the lid, string and then added the beads to the end...because it just needed a little something extra.

You could easily make tons of these for family and friends for the upcoming holidays!

Mama Elephant: Designer Series {Carnival Toppers}

Hi! Ashley here with a card featuring the new stamp set Carnival Toppers!

The whole card started with the super fun sentiment. I noticed that it fit perfectly inside the new Polariod Fun Creative Cuts! I love when dies work out like that! After I die cut the large polariod in white and light grey I stamped the sentiment, blending Bubblegum & Lollipop pigment inks to create an ombre look.

I added a cupcake from Carnival Cupcakes to compliment the sentiment. I stamped the frosting in Sunshine ink, the star with Lollipop and the cupcake base with Winter and then added them to the top and bottom of my sentiment. It's fun to take a break from paper piecing and coloring every once in awhile. I love the look that you can achieve with just inks. The Mama Elephant colors are so vibrant!

My centerpiece was then added to some patterned paper and finished off with a few enamel dots and string.

Neat & Tangled: Create a Gift

Little Tangles has a new challenge up! This one is all about creating a gift. There are so many ideas over on the blog make sure it check it out HERE.

For my gift, I created a card that holds a gift card on the front. To create my gift card pocket I backed a Crate Paper chipboard frame with white cardstock. The sentiment from Neat & Tangled Kindness Matters was stamped on the inside of the frame and then I adhered it to my card. I embellished around the sentiment with a sticker from Crate Paper's new collection Notes & Things and a arrow clip from Freckled Fawn.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll join the challenge!

Bella Blvd: Thankful

Note: It's a double post day! Check out my Mama Elephant card HERE.

It's hard to believe that crisp cool days are around the corner but I LOVE fall and I LOVE the new autumn collection from Bella Blvd (available in September) Hello Autumn.

I created this card, inspired by the Pinterest picture HERE, with a journaling card cut from patterned paper. The leaves are Paper Smooches Large Leaves. I've really been inspired by the light pink mixed in all of the collection lately so I popped in a pink leaf and I think it adds a fun balance.

The wood grain paper is another favorite from this collection. :) For more details and to see my other Pinterest inspired card check out the Bella post HERE.

Mama Elephant: Sentiment Borders

Note: It's a double post day! Check out my Bella Blvd card HERE.

Great background sets are a stampers best friend. They may seem boring in the package but Sentimental Borders from Mama Elephant packs a punch. Normally when I first get a stamp set I stamp it a few times on scratch paper just to get the feel of the images. This card IS my test run. It just came out perfect the first time. LOVE that it's SO easy.

So I stamped the birthday Sentimental Borders background several times. As you can see, it all lines up easily without much effort. Then I stamped and die cut my sentiment from Bloomsies and the cupcake from Carnival Cupcakes with matching dies.

I think this is my favorite cupcake yet! The top of the cupcake and bow were lightly colored with Prisma pencils. Oh, I used all ME inks too (Smoke, Winter, Orangeade, Blush, and Bubblegum).
