Just For Fun: Paint & More

Hi Everyone! Have you seen the new crafts section at Target? It's awesome. I recently picked up some paint (check out my Instagram account @ashmarcu) and wanted to incorporate it in to a card.

I started by die cutting a card using Mama Elephants Tags a Lot die, then swirled some paint in a big circle. Next I layered lots of die cuts (mostly from Amy Tan's new Rise & Shine collection). Next I layered in some washi tape and added the typewriter stamped with a sentiment from My Favorite Things You Gnome Me.

Next, I created a Washi Bow using Bella Blvd tape and a Tim Holtz paperclip. It need a little bit more so I added some "paint splatters" with my Copics. Yep, I just dotted my markers here and there to create the look of splatters. Easy and not messy. ;)

Thanks for stopping by today! It's time for more creating....

Just for Fun: Avery Elle

Happy Sunday! Today I'm stamping with Avery Elle's Fabulous Flowers! Gosh, I love this set. It's so fun, trendy, creative and perfect. *happy smile*

It teams up nicely with the new Lawn Fawn inks. Let me tell you how perfect the colors are! They are so cheerful and ink up so nicely. :)

To create this tag I die cut the Tag, You're It from My Favorite Things out of the new Journey 6x6 paper pad from Crate Paper. Next I die cut a circle from Lawn Fawn's Circle Stackables. Then I stamped the flowers and leaves from Fabulous Flowers, making it up as I went. I taped the circle to my tag with Queen&Co Yellow Grid washi tape, then added a few die cut leaves to the edges.

My tag is all ready for a spring gift! I can't wait to create a few more. :)

Creating for Fun: Lawn Fawn

Hi Everyone! I'm on spring break with my kids. My kids have a few classes this week but besides that we are just enjoying some free time! Hooray! This week, I thought it would be fun to challenge (okay, so it hasn't really been a challenge) myself to create just for fun. I've shared a few over on Instagram (I'm @ashmarcu come join me!). Today, I created with Lawn Fawn's Year Five here's how...

First I die cut a Polaroid from Mama Elephant's Polariod Fun. Then I cut a panel to fit behind it. On the panel I cut a circle from Sew Fancy then blended Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed & Abandoned Coral). The otter was stamped with Year Five, die cut using the coordinating dies and colored with Copics. I put it all together, adding some Bella Blvd washi tape and Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

The grey frame was cut with Sew Fancy from Avery Elle's Neutral Collection Paper Pad. The sentiment is Lawn Fawn's Scripty Sayings. Finally, the back panel was die cut from Sew Fancy (this is a super versatile die set that I use A LOT).

This was a fun card to create! Thanks for stopping by!

After I colored it, I realized that the Bookmarks die would frame it perfectly! Next, I cut a few more bookmarks with patterned paper and layered them all together. I adhered them to by card base and trimmed the tops. My card needed a little extra detail so I added the small flowers in two corners. I love this set and I know you will too!

Mama Elephant: Magical Moments

This week is flyin' by sharing Mama Elephant's new release! I was finishing up a few more cards yesterday (that I will share later this month) and I have to tell you that working with these stamps gets better and better. :) I can't wait to make even more!

Today's card features Magical Moments. This set is all about sentiments. I started by inking the blue sky with Fresh Mint on a die cut panel from Sew Fancy and then stamped the sentiment. I added a few stamped stars from Magical Moments and then die cut  a some stars from Confetti Creative Cuts. The hedgehog was stamped from Ella & Friends, colored with Copics and die cut with the coordinating Creative Cuts. I love how the hedgehog is holding a star. :) I ground the scene with a strip of washi tape. The card was finished with a die cut patterned paper panel and a large cardstock panel (from Sew Fancy again).

I just adore this sentiment and of coarse the hedgehog too!

Mama Elephant: Photo Bomb

Hi Everyone! I'm back, sharing another new stamp set from Mama Elephant! This is such a fun, trendy set! It's full of images ready to be colored. I had a blast coloring this large selfie (or is it groupie?). ;)

I used Copic markers to mixed up skin tones and hair colors. I kept the clothing bright and fun to go with the birthday sentiment. I can't wait to color the other images in this set! I mated the colored image on a white panel from Sew Fancy and then a larger mat from Peek a Frame. To add a little interest I stamped the herringbone pattern from Zenith Borders at an angle. Aren't they a fun bunch? :)

To create this card I started by stamping Ella the elephant. :) I stamped the little umbrella and party hat to accessorize. All the images were colored with Copics and cut with the coordinating Creative Cuts. The grassy hill was created using Landscape Trio and the front panel was cut using Peek a Frame. Paper Smooches: Treasure Box Card

Ahoy! Hehe. I LOVE that Paper Smooches came out with coordinating dies to one of my favorite sets, Ahoy Me Hearty. I created a mini treasure chest card that would be so cute for a lunch box note, party favor, thank you or just about anything. ;)

I wanted to create curved edges on the sides of the card to create a treasure box shape. Paper Smooches has some great dies to cut the perfect edge. Not too flat, not too rounded. Notice the stitched edge? Here is how I did it...

I started by cutting a mat 3 1/2 inches by 4 1/4. Next I lined up two dies, Quotables Dies on the outside edge and Stitched Dies on the inside edge. The curves aren't exactly the same but with a little washi tape I was able to secure them snuggly together.

I stamped, die cut and colored the items from Ahoy Me Matey and layered them on a gold frame cut from Fancy Frames Icons. The sequins from Pretty Pink Posh add the perfect finishing touch. :)

Now, one last tip. I created a custom card base to fit right behind the front panel. I could have gone to the trouble of lining up my curved die and getting a perfectly matched card base but this rectangular base works for me and would be way easier if you are mass producing. :)

Mama Elephant: Three Amigos

Hi Everyone! Ashley here, sharing a card featuring Three Amigos!

I created a little hideout using Peek a Frames and Sew Fancy for the raccoon that I stamped from Three Amigos. The stamped leaves are a perfect addition from Freestyle Florals and add to the woodsy look.

I added a few more stamped panels behind the hideout using Sew Fancy and the new borders set Zenith Borders.

I hope you enjoy Three Amigos as much as I did! I can't wait to stamp it again and again!
