Bella Blvd: Thankful

Note: It's a double post day! Check out my Mama Elephant card HERE.

It's hard to believe that crisp cool days are around the corner but I LOVE fall and I LOVE the new autumn collection from Bella Blvd (available in September) Hello Autumn.

I created this card, inspired by the Pinterest picture HERE, with a journaling card cut from patterned paper. The leaves are Paper Smooches Large Leaves. I've really been inspired by the light pink mixed in all of the collection lately so I popped in a pink leaf and I think it adds a fun balance.

The wood grain paper is another favorite from this collection. :) For more details and to see my other Pinterest inspired card check out the Bella post HERE.

Mama Elephant: Sentiment Borders

Note: It's a double post day! Check out my Bella Blvd card HERE.

Great background sets are a stampers best friend. They may seem boring in the package but Sentimental Borders from Mama Elephant packs a punch. Normally when I first get a stamp set I stamp it a few times on scratch paper just to get the feel of the images. This card IS my test run. It just came out perfect the first time. LOVE that it's SO easy.

So I stamped the birthday Sentimental Borders background several times. As you can see, it all lines up easily without much effort. Then I stamped and die cut my sentiment from Bloomsies and the cupcake from Carnival Cupcakes with matching dies.

I think this is my favorite cupcake yet! The top of the cupcake and bow were lightly colored with Prisma pencils. Oh, I used all ME inks too (Smoke, Winter, Orangeade, Blush, and Bubblegum).

Mama Elephant: Rock with Me

I'm back with another card featuring the new Mama Elephant stamp set Rewind

I paper pieced the super hip cassette tape with papers from the new Notes & Things Crate Paper collection then added it to a tag and journaling card. My favorite trick these days is trimming those larger journaling cards down to A2 card size. I think they give a brilliant, quick and fun background that is a little more interesting than patterned paper.

The sentiment was stamped in grey off to the side to match the angle of the cassette tape. I love all the different sentiments in this set!

If you'd like to see another Rewind card, check out the card I created for the blog hop HERE.

Mama Elephant: Carnival Cupcakes

Carnival Cupcakes is being featured over on the Mama Elephant blog today. This is such a fun and unique cupcake set!

I used this set A LOT this month. For this card I made a sweet treat using the stamps and coordinating dies and rested it on a sentiment from Bountiful Blessings. Isn't that tiny bunny adorable?

Be sure to check out the ME blog for more inspiration!

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Release Design Team blog hop!

I used the new Rewind set to make my card. I paper pieced it with some super hip colors (because this set is soooo cool!) and stamped the "rock" sentiment below it. The "let's" part of the sentiment is stamped on the new Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts die that I promise you will need because I can't seem to put it down. The whole release is super fun so be sure to hop around and then shop, shop, shop! :)

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

Big News! Mama Elephant!

Did you hear the news? I'm honored to be joining the Mama Elephant Design Team! Sometimes an opportunity comes along and it completely and totally works. Because I love the product (I have since they started), I love working with their products and I LOVE them, I'm super excited to have been offered a chance to design for them. So I'd like to say hello to new, exciting opportunities with one of the top companies in the industry!!! (Can you tell I'm excited?!?!)

This card was created using the Hello Script creative cuts, the hashtag from the new Index Card. I die cut the hello from patterned paper from the new Crate Paper Notes & Things and backed it with black card stock. The hashtag/pound sign was cut from the same black cardstock and mounted on the front of the card. The Bella Blvd washi tape was folded in half and stapled on to the card.

I thought it would be fun to visit a few of my past cards using ME stamps...

Bella Blvd: A to Z Cards

Back to school time is so exciting, right? I love getting my kids ready. When I first got the Tiny Tots collection the Flashcard papers caught my eye right away. I had to make a card set for my young kids!

I started by upcycling a box I had around the house. I added a few papers (Toy Chest), chipboard letters (Amorie White) and stickers (Tiny Tots Trinkets, Red Chevron Tape) to the top of the box. I could have die cut an actual playing card box out of card stock but the large square box will work better for the tiny hands playing with it at my house. ;)

There are three sheets of patterned paper that make up the Flashcard A to Z and 1-10 set (Flashcards A-L, Flashcards M-X, Flashcards YZ123). I cut them apart, then rounded the corners. My kids are pretty good with patterned paper (yep, they are BIG time crafters) so I didn't feel like I had to reinforce the paper but you can easily laminate or back these cards with card stock if you needed to. ;)

These cards will be a super fun addition to my kids learning and game collection. I know they'll be inspired to draw from the pictures and will love reviewing their letters with these adorable cards!

Paper Smooches: You Are...

Paper Smooches has some of the coolest dies. The word dies are big time favorites of mine. Especially THESE ones. I love when I can combine dies, mix them with stamps and rearrange them again and again for different looks.

On this card I die cut my sentiment and place each word on a banner. I cut the stripes and then die cut them all a little differently. Look closely and you can see the Dots & Dashes die on each banner. I adhered each banner on the stitching side so they stick out from the card a little bit.

On my next card I just used the "you are" from the Kudos Dies and then added a stamped word from Charmed Cat

The cat was stamped with Feline Friends. Isn't he perfect perched up there on the sentiment. I love those cat stamps!

I also used the SAME sentiment dies in THIS guy card. Love. Those. Dies. ;)

Crate Paper: Back to School

Getting ready to start the school year is a great time to organize and freshen up desk accessories at home. I decided to make a new pencil jar for my son's desk using the Boy's Rule collection.

I started with a blue Ball jar and painted the inside with a creamy white paint to match the neutrals in Boy's Rule. Tip: When painting do several thin layers and let them dry really well between coats.
I mixed and matched a few Boy's Rule embellishments that added a fun pop of color, with words that will encourage him as he works.

The embellishments were adhered together and then attached to the jar with a paper clip.

Next up, I couldn't help but make a coordinating collage. I focused on bright colors with lots of textures and interesting and inspiring things to look at. I mounted the collage on card stock, just like a card, to stand up on his desk. If your space allows for it this would also make great wall art placed in a simple frame.

The combination of the pencil jar and collage will be sure to freshen up his desk for the school year and inspire him to sit down and create special things of his own.

Paper Smooches: Kudos Dies

Today's card features Paper Smooches Kudos Dies. I've used these dies several times this release because they are so fun (especially with the stamp set that matches!).

To feature the dies I thought it would be fun to use the "handsome" die along with "you are" (which also matches a few other words in the set). I just got back from a trip to NYC when I made this card so I was in the mood for something trendy and urban.
'

I cute the small panel of patterned paper and die cut the word "handsome" from it. Then I die cut "handsome" again 3 times from dark teal cardstock to layer over it. Do you see the small die cut shadow? The city die, from Backdrop Builders added a masculine touch and "dude" from Teen Routine.
