Teacher Appreciation Cards

Hey! This week has been teacher appreciation week at my kids' school. I made cards for both of their teachers using Lawn Fawns SUPER cute A Good Apple set! Eep, so cute!

On the first card I made a fun sketchy background with Lucky Stars, Interlocking Backdrops  and Blue Skies. I created a white board with A Good Apple stamping each of sentiments in two inks.

My second card is very similar but on this one I created a background with the white board/ chalk board stamp and added a few stars from Blue Skies. "You're awesome" is from So Much to Say.

PTI April 2013 Blog Hop - Tilted

Hi Everyone! I'm having a little fun today and joining the PTI blog hop. This month's challenge is...

...TILTED!

Here is what I came up with...

I just LOVE my Mini Blooms PTI Stamp set. I stamped the setiment on a piece of white tilted cardstock then stamped the flowers in soft stone. I created a simple wrap around banner out of cardstock behind the sentiment panel (trendy and SO easy!) I finished my stamping off with the mini blooms again on the kraft base in white ink.

Thanks for hopping by!

Arrrr! A Pirate Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! We had a crazy busy birthday weekend. One party had a pirate theme so I did my best to pull together a pirate card with the stamps I had on hand. Yep, no pirate stamps in my collection. ;)

I was inspired by Elena's card HERE. Isn't she awesome? It was a nice jumping off point since I didn't have much time to create this card.
I combined stamps from two of THE BEST stamp companies. Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches. :) From Lawn Fawn I used Summertime Charm (stamps and die), Bannerific, Interlocking Backdrops, So Much to Say and Sally's ABCs. From Paper Smooches I used their new set Wicked Nauticool.

A few fun details:
- I stamped the herringbone background stamp from Interlocking Backdrops randomly on the black sail in white and grey to create a weathered look.
- I tucked three sequins behind the boat to look like stolen treasure. Arrr Matey!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Butterflies

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a great Easter weekend! This week's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge is all about....

Butterflies!!!

I was not only inspired by the butterfly theme but I also drew a little inspiration from the colors and the layout of the fun picture Kim chose for the week.

I used stamps from Whirligigs, Cuteasaurus plus Butterfly 1 Dies and Due Die 1. :)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can find time to play in the fun challenge!

10 Minute Craft Dash #14

I had an idea for a card and when I saw the current 10 minute craft dash it was a perfect fit! I pulled out all the stamps sets and paper I wanted to use and got my inks ready. 10 mintues went FAST but I was flying. :) I love stamping, I really do. My table was a mess and my hands were super inky (no time to clean, right?) but I did it. 9 mintues 34 seconds. Success.

All the "coloring" was done by inking the back of the stamps. A fun way to add quick color. :) All the stamps are from Lawn Fawn (So Much to Say, Year Three and Interlocking Backdrops).

Runway Inspired Challenge #32

Hi Everyone! I've always enjoyed checking out the Runway Inspired Challenges but haven't had the chance to play until now...

The inspiration photo is so cool!

And here is my take... I didn't have any sparkly silver paper or embellishments but with the newest Paper Crafts call fresh in my mind I went out on a limb and used....foil! Ha! Fun stuff. I wrapped a piece of foil around a strip of card stock for some instant shine. :)

The stamps are Mini Blooms from Papertrey Ink (amaaazing set Maile!) and one of my all time favorites Interlocking Backdrops from Lawn Fawn. :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Cool Shades

Hi Everyone! Its the start of a new Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge! This week its all about these fun colors...

(tangerine, deep orange, lime, lemon)

Here is my take...

I used Metropolis to create this trendy city scene. Just a few quick tips... First, I masked off the bottom line of the city stamps so I could make the building appear taller. Second, I trimmed one of the buildings on the dark orange level to add a little variety to the scene.

Hope you join in the fun this week!

AND don't forget to check out the other Sparks DT cards...

ME Sketch Challenge #2

Hi Everyone! Before I dive back in to magazine submissions I thought it would be fun to stop and play in a challenge. I'm a BIG fan of Kryssi and Mama Elephant stamps so I decided to play with this sketch.

Here is what I came up with...

I used Trifecta and Good Times. Thanks for the challenge Kryssi! Here is LINK to the challenge if you'd like to play along. :)
