Lucy's First Challenge

Hey Everybody! I made this card for Lucy's first card challenge DAYS ago but with the hustle and bustle of the holidays arriving (and crazy kiddos), I'm just getting aroung to posting it. Oh how I love the holidays! Seriously, they are my favorite! Just got the tree up tonight (no wasting time around here!) and lights on the house will go up tomorrow! Yippee!

K, so back to my card...Lucy's challenge was to use aqua, pink and kraft.

I used one of my favorite Hero Arts owl images. Since the stamped image shows the owl with closed eyes, I added goggly eyes to wake him up!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Its A Surprise

Hi Everyone! I've been super busy this past week with new projects that aren't quite ready to share yet. I finally decided to dive in and start scrapbooking my kiddos. I have 27 months to catch up on and thousands of photos! Scary....and fun!

Today I have a card to share that is for a friend. Its a surprise and I haven't put it in the mail yet. :) He! I hope she likes it.

Oh, check out that birdie. Recognize him? Scroll down to a few posts and you might see him with a winter hat on. :) I also did some hand stitching on this card. It took me a few tries to figure out a technique that I liked. I ended up punching the holes with my sewing machine and then going back with sewing floss by hand. I like the "chunky" look.

Have a great day!

Here are a few quick cards I made for this week's Hero Arts challenge.

I only purchased one new holiday set this year. I love it! Both these cards only use THIS set.

Happy Birthday David!

Happy Birthday David! Thought I'd send you some pumpkin pie way over there across the country in NYC!

So my brother (David) is the TRUE artist of the family (but don't call him an artist because that isn't cool). He has a double major in art/art history, trucked himself cross the country after college to live in the hip NY art scene, creates art but doesn't sell it, visits a million galleries a week and keeps up this cool helpful website for art gallery beginners and enthusiasts.

So if you live in NY, like contemporary art or just want to check out my brother's cool site visit The Two Percent.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 18

Hey Everyone! Its been awhile since I've been able to participate in Dawn's color challenge. This one was a lot of fun! Love the mix of bright colors with the yummy craft and brown neutrals.

The layered label shapes were both cut from my Nestabilities Label One set. The rasberry layer is just the basic shape and then for the cream layer was cut twice. I trimmed the two pieces until I had the longer shape that I wanted then hid the seam behind the craft colored piece.

Thanks Dawn!

Sunshine in the Fall

Both of the kiddos are sleeping at the same time! Hip hip hooray! It won't last long so here is a quick share...

For the small butterfly I taped strips of patterned paper to a solid sheet and then used my Stampin' Up butterfly die cut. The clear butterfly is also a Stampin' up beauty that I stamped with white StazOn.

I put dimensional tape under both sets of wings to give her little lift. :)

Will add supply list later...

Off to create! Have a great day!

Oh Mexico

Hey Everyone! When Nichole from PTI announced a challenge for World Card Making day I knew I wanted to join. The challenge was to make a card influenced by different cultures from around the world. She provided four different countries with tons of inspiration and ideas. The countries were Japan, India, Australia and Mexico. I chose to make a card influenced by Mexico!

I just love the bright colorful blankets often associated with Mexico. Their colors are so vibrant and their striped patterns are so recognizable.

Thanks for stopping by today! See ya soon!
