Just a Note

Hi Everyone! I've been so inspired by so many things in blog-land lately. This card is a reflection of all the goodness I've seen lately. I've been busy working on a new "feature" for my blog this last week. I have just a few more steps to complete until I'm ready to post. This new project has been fun and inspiring for me so I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I have. Stay tuned. ;) Thanks for stopping by today!

A New Style

Hi Everyone! I stepped outside of my own personal style (I think?) to create this card inspired by Sally's card in the new Hero Arts catalog (page 1 if you wanna chek it out). Her card was loaded with fun texture, had a great sketch and beautiful colors. I took all of that and translated her design with some fun stamps in my collected that needed a little love. The button is by Jane. I absolutley LOVE her buttons and will use them again and again because they are so stinkin' cute! I pulled out a sewing pin to unclog my Glossy Accents and then decided it would be fun to add a few to the card. Kinda adds a homemade touch, don't you think? Thanks for stopping by!

Lucy's Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone! I loved following Lucy's sketch week and I thought it would be fun to play along with one of her sketches. This is what I came up with using Sketch #3 . I paper pieced part of Penny Black's Butterfly Kissed stamp. I'm trying to embrace more patterened papers so I shopped in my stash and found a few subtle patterns that I love. I really like Penny Black's To You  sentiment but it was a little bigger than I needed for this card so I just inked up the "Happy Birthday". Hope you are having a good weekend! Sweet Hedgehog

Hi Everyone! I love adding embelishements to stamps. It really makes them come alive. Today I've paired one of Penny Black's hedgehogs from the clear set Stuck on You  with a super cute rose from Jane's Doodles . I also couldn't resist using this sentiment again. It's one of my favorites from Penny Black. Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Trigger: Bright Spot

Hi Everyone! I was totally inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World blog so I had to play along. :) The picture inspired me in so many ways. I loved the color, white space, woodgrain, fun and kitchen theme. So with all that inspiration I created this card. I used the What's Perking  Hero Art's clear set and stamped the images I wanted to use in several PTI patterened papers (all pulled from my stash to match the tigger picture). The brown label was stamped with a Designer Woodgrain and the background was stamped with Background Basics: Retro . I finished the card with a few embelishments including a handmade button by Jane . Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

First Layout Finished in 2011

Hi Everyone! The beginning of the year is always a great time to reflect on goals. I ended 2010 in a little bit of a creative ditch and I really wanted to redirect my crafting goals for 2011. After a lot of thought I kept coming back to one thing... I want to scrapbook MORE. I think I did one layout in 2010 and that is just not enough. Not even close . My kids are growing so fast and their memories and my memories need to be scrapped. No question about it. So, I bring you my first layout finished in 2011. My favorite scrapbookers are Laura Vegas , Nichol Magourik , Jennifer McGuire and Robyn Werlich . You'll see a lot of their influence on my beginning pages but I hope to develop a style all of my own as I progress. But what's most important to me is that I'm scrapping memories . I created snowflakes for my layout with a few punches that were stamped with text from Penny Black's Crystalline clear stamp set. I also stamped a few snowflakes from the set with Vers

Flying Hedgehog

Hi Everyone! I have a card up on the Penny Black blog today. I was so excited to finally use the Hedgehopper stamp by Penny Black. Its one of my favorites from the Amour 2011 release. I sketched and cut out a large cloud, then mounted it on the Nestabilities die cuts. The image was colored with Distress Inks, then pieced on top of the embossed cloud. Buttons and string were added for embellishments and a banner sentiment was tucked under and curled up for a little extra dimension. I'm off to photography my first completed layout this year. So exciting ! Thanks for stopping by!

Basket of Love

Hi Everyone! I'm getting back in to the stamping groove with this super sweet image by Penny Black called Basket of Love. I thought it would be fun to use some of the Valentine's images to make thank you cards to fill up my stash.   I've got a lot of fun projects coming up...including a few scrapbook pages! Woohoo! Thanks for stopping by!

Big Thanks Heart Card

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year! I'm starting off my crafting year by adding a few more thank you cards to my stash using Penny Black's Amour collection. I used the Love Grows stamp to create the background for my punch hearts. I stapled the hearts with my Tiny Attacher to coordinating circles. The sentiment is from the Say it with Flowers set and I added a subtle background with Letter Background . Thanks for stopping by!
