Merci Poppy Poem Card

Hi Everyone! I have a simple card to show you today that features one of my favorite Penny Black stamps.

I decided to go with a traditional poppy color but this image could really go in any direction (maybe I'll show ya later). First I stamped the entire image on white cardstock. Then I stamped the flowers on orange cardstock 3 times. The first layer was cut out and taped to the white image. For the second layer I cut between the petals and added Glossy Accents. When the Glossy Accents was almost dry I bent the petals. For the final layer I just cut out the center petals and added Glossy Accents. I put all the layers together before they dried (including the button) so no extra tape was required. I finished the card by stamping the flower image with VersaMark on the blue mat and adding some string and the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !
