Two Owls, So Much Inspiration!

Hi Everyone, I'm catching up and sharing a few cards I made for last week's Hero Arts challenge. There is an endless supply of inspiration on the Hero Arts website so this challenge was well...not so challenging. :)

My first card was inspired by Tami's layout seen HERE and the cute little owl seen in the new Hero Arts store HERE.

When I was looking around the website for some new inspiration I came across a set of cards that Shari made. My favorite card of the set was THIS one. You can see all the cards in her set HERE. So with those four cards as my inspiration I made another owl card.

When I was playing around with the design I realized I needed a white center to offset all of the color. I already had the green frame in place but the four squares continued in to the middle. I was going to mount a white piece in the middle but realized it would be fun to cut out the middle instead and mount the owl on the card base which also gave me a place to hide the tree branch. I'm so excited to use the scrap piece that I cut out from the middle!!!

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !

There are so many fun images to choose from in this set that all centers around the BEST elephant stamp ever. ;) I started my scene by stamping the elephant, then I masked in the bunny and bubble blower. Finally, I stamped the bubbles, puddle and splashes. I was SO fun to create. I colored the images with Copics and added a little ink to complete my scene. I trimmed it down to fit inside of the Instalove Creative Cuts and stamped the sentiment. I know you'll agree that stamping this set is super fun but first...
