Silhouette Advent

I am so excited to share my completed advent calendar. It took me a LONG time to finish it but I'm happy with the end results and can't wait to enjoy each day opening a box with my kids!

I used lots of My Minds Eye paper, Papertrey Ink stamps and dies and some beautiful twine from the Twinery to create my project. I always loved wrapping presents when I was younger and it felt like each little advent box was a chance to decorate a small gift. I plan to put candy, activities and fun surprises in each box (yes, I know I'm a few days late but I think the kids will be okay with year ;) )

I think my favorite box is #9. Lots of layers, lots of fun! I also like box #18. It was one of those things where I had an idea and it worked the first time! Woohoo!

What Christmas projects are you working on this year? I would love to see them!

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !

There are so many fun images to choose from in this set that all centers around the BEST elephant stamp ever. ;) I started my scene by stamping the elephant, then I masked in the bunny and bubble blower. Finally, I stamped the bubbles, puddle and splashes. I was SO fun to create. I colored the images with Copics and added a little ink to complete my scene. I trimmed it down to fit inside of the Instalove Creative Cuts and stamped the sentiment. I know you'll agree that stamping this set is super fun but first...
