Remix Layout Week 1

Hey Everyone! On Monday I introduced you to this card...

and today I'd like to show you the scrapbook page I created that was inspired by the card! There are a lot of ways to remix a card in to a scrapbook page. You can use the same color scheme, layout, stamps or theme. For my first remix I pretty much used it all!

I started by pulling out the same paper I used for the card. I added a few more coordinating patterned papers and I was ready to scrapbook! For this particular layout I choose the papers first, then dug for pictures to match. Since I have A LOT of scrapbooking to catch up on I had plenty of pictures to choose from.

After I found the pictures of my son's first trip to the zoo I knew I wanted to use Nichole's FREE download on this post. I trimmed down the lion about a 1/4 inch smaller than the template and used an impression die to add some texture to his mane. I also tied in the wood grain heart from my card and the same patterned paper.

At the top of the layout I added some details about our trip and stamped a heart from Night, Night Moon. Notice I also used the same green polka dot mat as my card.

Here are some more details about our trip. I love the stamping detail here and there throughout the card. Gotta love using what I already have to enhance the layout.

Finally I cut the title using my Silhouette. I'm learning as I go with the Silhouette but I'm happy with this title and the color it adds to the page.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my first remix!

There are so many fun images to choose from in this set that all centers around the BEST elephant stamp ever. ;) I started my scene by stamping the elephant, then I masked in the bunny and bubble blower. Finally, I stamped the bubbles, puddle and splashes. I was SO fun to create. I colored the images with Copics and added a little ink to complete my scene. I trimmed it down to fit inside of the Instalove Creative Cuts and stamped the sentiment. I know you'll agree that stamping this set is super fun but first... Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !
