Embellish Color Challenge with Labels

Hi Everyone! Today I have a card to share for the latest Embellish Magazine challenge. I have to admit that the colors were a HUGE challenge for me. No green? No blue? What am I to do!

But with a little inspiration I did it! I am so lucky to live in an area where we see lots of hot air balloons. I love love love seeing them at sunset. Something about the silhouette against the colored sky is so magical. So with that memory combined with the challenge and my Up Up and Away set I created this...

There is A LOT of Nichole Heady influence here. :) I couldn't help but try a few of her tricks. The sunset and the stripe on the silk ribbon were created with my Copics. The hot air balloons were kept simple with some brown ink. I finished the card off with a few gems and the sentiment on the banner.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !

There are so many fun images to choose from in this set that all centers around the BEST elephant stamp ever. ;) I started my scene by stamping the elephant, then I masked in the bunny and bubble blower. Finally, I stamped the bubbles, puddle and splashes. I was SO fun to create. I colored the images with Copics and added a little ink to complete my scene. I trimmed it down to fit inside of the Instalove Creative Cuts and stamped the sentiment. I know you'll agree that stamping this set is super fun but first...
