Creating for Fun: Lawn Fawn

Hi Everyone! I'm on spring break with my kids. My kids have a few classes this week but besides that we are just enjoying some free time! Hooray! This week, I thought it would be fun to challenge (okay, so it hasn't really been a challenge) myself to create just for fun. I've shared a few over on Instagram (I'm @ashmarcu come join me!). Today, I created with Lawn Fawn's Year Five here's how...

First I die cut a Polaroid from Mama Elephant's Polariod Fun. Then I cut a panel to fit behind it. On the panel I cut a circle from Sew Fancy then blended Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed & Abandoned Coral). The otter was stamped with Year Five, die cut using the coordinating dies and colored with Copics. I put it all together, adding some Bella Blvd washi tape and Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

The grey frame was cut with Sew Fancy from Avery Elle's Neutral Collection Paper Pad. The sentiment is Lawn Fawn's Scripty Sayings. Finally, the back panel was die cut from Sew Fancy (this is a super versatile die set that I use A LOT).

This was a fun card to create! Thanks for stopping by!

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !

Happy Sunday everybody! I didn't think I'd be entering this week's Hero Arts challenge but I was reading through my favorite blogs yesterday and was totally inspired by Jennifer Holmes . Love when that happens! Within a few hours I had this card put together. I had fun adding a few extra details. I curled the beak around a pencil to make it curve. Then put two layers of dimensional tape under the middle to support the shape. I also made accordion feet. These can fold flat for mailing. :) Materials: Hero Arts Stamps (Basic Lower & Upper Case Letters, Wavy Leaf Pattern, Many Hearts), Hero Arts Flowers, Hero Arts Button and Gems, Black Buttons, BoBunny Paper, String. Have a great day!

Pretty Pink Posh October Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to share that I am a guest designer for Pretty Pink Posh this month! Today is day one of a THREE day blog hop celebrating their new release! I created my card using their new products;  Villages Stamps , Village Dies , Village Additions Stamps  and  Village Additions Dies . I also used the greetings set Holiday Scripts Stamps  and Holiday Scripts Dies . I stamped, die cut and colored several of the images from the village sets. These are SO enjoyable to put to together and bring me back to my childhood when I painted ceramic Christmas villages. I layered the building on top of white glitter cardstock which gives the card a magical feel. The details are amazing. I kept the buildings soft which helped the greeting to pop. TIP: I cut the "s" off of the large Holiday sentiment so I could group it with Greetings.  I can't wait to share the other cards I have created for this month! These stamps are quickly becoming some of my favorites! There
