Paper Smooches: Treasure Box Card

Ahoy! Hehe. I LOVE that Paper Smooches came out with coordinating dies to one of my favorite sets, Ahoy Me Hearty. I created a mini treasure chest card that would be so cute for a lunch box note, party favor, thank you or just about anything. ;)

I wanted to create curved edges on the sides of the card to create a treasure box shape. Paper Smooches has some great dies to cut the perfect edge. Not too flat, not too rounded. Notice the stitched edge? Here is how I did it...

I started by cutting a mat 3 1/2 inches by 4 1/4. Next I lined up two dies, Quotables Dies on the outside edge and Stitched Dies on the inside edge. The curves aren't exactly the same but with a little washi tape I was able to secure them snuggly together.

I stamped, die cut and colored the items from Ahoy Me Matey and layered them on a gold frame cut from Fancy Frames Icons. The sequins from Pretty Pink Posh add the perfect finishing touch. :)

Now, one last tip. I created a custom card base to fit right behind the front panel. I could have gone to the trouble of lining up my curved die and getting a perfectly matched card base but this rectangular base works for me and would be way easier if you are mass producing. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Mama Elephant: November Stampede!

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Release Design Team blog hop! You should have arrived here from Geralyn's blog .  The newest release is now live and available for purchase in their store HERE ! The release is another knock out hit! Each stamp set is amazing! Today I'm featuring Cross My Heart and I sneaked in a few of the other sets too! ;) I started my card by die cutting the stitched index card . Then I cut out the window  which is designed to open. (cool, right?) I wanted a frame for my window so I die cut the window again and trimmed the side before adhering it to my index base. Then I backed my window with some cloud patterned paper for my outside sky. Next I stamped and die cut the cats from Purrfect Pair. I have had SO much fun with these cats. After adhering to cats to the window sill, I stamped and fussy cut the heart balloon. I tied some black floss around the balloon and adhere it to the kitten's paw. Finally, I stamped my sentiment. I...
