Quick Card & Stamping Like Crazy

Hi Everyone! Just stopping by to share a quick card today. I got stuck on my Remix layout...I set it aside for a few days so I can take a fresh look at it next week. :) I'm also stamping cards like crazy for an upcoming publication deadline. I have a stack of cards to share...but those will have to wait until next week too. :) In the mean time here is a quick card I created during Papertrey Ink's anniversary. Happy Friday!

Sweet Baby Boy

Hi Everyone! Here is a card I made for a friend that has a little baby boy on the way. I couldn't help but use my Papertrey Ink set Night Night Moon  (another great set by Heather). I paired it with lots of PTI goodness, my favorite My Mind's Eye paper, a few Doodlebug buttons and a bit of Divine Twine. Finally, I bit of enabling. I am a HUGE fan of Kiki Comin. She has created the BEST new print that is so fun. It is so simple but has so much personality and purpose. You can see it here . There is also a chance to win one. :) Hope you are having a great weekend! See you back soon with my scrapbook page from Remix Week 2 .

Remix Week 2: Card Inspiration

Hi Everyone! Ready for another remix? In case you missed last week, Remix: from Card to Page is a fun new feature where I create a card and then use it to inspire a scrapbook layout (shared later in the week). Its a fun way to jump in to scrapbooking! Thank you SO MUCH for all of your encouraging words last week and don't worry...my cards aren't going anywhere. I've actually found that mixing a little scrapbooking in to my creative time gives me even more ideas for cards! Ha. Go figure. So this week's inspiration card uses Kim Hughes new stamp line Paper Smooches . This card uses two of her adorable sets, Falling for You and Pretty Phrases . Lots of paper piecing, happy hearts and shiny buttons. Happiness. :) Thanks for stopping by!

Big Changes

Hi Everyone! There have been some big changes in my crafting hobby these past few weeks. First, I decided to step down from the Penny Black design team. It was a wonderful opportunity, an amazing team and a generous company but I needed some change. Second, I'm making a big effort to scrapbook. I've completed two layouts so far this year which is already double what I did last year! Woohoo! Finally, I decided I needed to put some effort in to being published. I'm happy to report that my first submission was successful! I submitted three cards and one was picked up for a Paper Crafts special issue coming out in July! Change can be hard and uncertain but it also can be rewarding! How about a card? This is one of my submissions that wasn't accepted. I adore  THIS Papertrey Ink set my Heather. I've also been VERY in to hearts lately. Maybe its Valentine's Day or maybe I just love them. They have a way of cheering up a card quickly. :) The sentimen...

Remix Layout Week 1

Hey Everyone! On Monday I introduced you to this card...  and today I'd like to show you the scrapbook page I created that was inspired by the card! There are a lot of ways to remix a card in to a scrapbook page. You can use the same color scheme, layout, stamps or theme. For my first remix I pretty much used it all! I started by pulling out the same paper I used for the card. I added a few more coordinating patterned papers and I was ready to scrapbook! For this particular layout I choose the papers first, then dug for pictures to match. Since I have A LOT of scrapbooking to catch up on I had plenty of pictures to choose from.   After I found the pictures of my son's first trip to the zoo I knew I wanted to use Nichole's FREE download on this post. I trimmed down the lion about a 1/4 inch smaller than the template and used an impression die to add some texture to his mane. I also tied in the wood grain heart from my card and the same patterned paper. At...

Lovin' Paper Smooches

Hi Everyone! I've been having so much fun with Kim Hughes NEW stamps from her NEW company Paper Smooches . They are so fun and easy to work with! Love, love, looooooove. I dug through my My Mind's Eye patterened paper and found a few fun prints. I mixed and matched them to create a few fun acorns. I LOVE that Kim created a few hearts in her Falling for You set that you can put on the bigger images. The twine is from Kim's cute packaging. Gotta love packaging that can be used, right? Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Welcome to Remix

Hi Everyone! I'm excited to introduce a new fun little feature on my blog called Remix: from Card to Page Every Monday I will share a card and then the following Friday I will share a scrapbook page inspired by the card. Fun, huh? Why Remix? When sitting down to create a card I feel totally comfortable and excited to jump in to a project. Scrapbooking is a little different. I sometimes spend hours and hours working on a design and then end up with something that I'm not happy with. By taking a specific card and using it as a guide for my layout I'm hoping to translate my design in to a scrapbook page I can be proud of. Will you join me? Here is my card for this week: My card started with My Mind's Eye patterned paper and a fun new Papertrey Ink stamp set ( Tiny Treats: Birthday ). I used lots of new dies and a fun button from Jane . Hope you'll join me for the remix on Friday! Thanks for stopping by!

PTI 2010 Favorite

Hi Everyone! Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 4th Anniversary and as part of a HUGE giveaway they asked everyone to post their favorite PTI project of 2010. I made this card back in June with my favorite PTI set Up, Up and Away . I love the colors, the stamps, everything . Hope you are having a good weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Bunny Love

Hi Everyone! Thank you for your enthusiasm for my new blog feature (and you don't even know what it is yet)! I'm going to start it up next Monday so come back and enjoy new regular posts every Monday and Friday. I pulled out this adorable older Penny Black bunny image for my card today. I colored the bunny with Copics and added Glossy Accents and glitter to the hearts. I used several different My Mind's Eye papers with my favorite Papertrey Ink cardstock and added a few fun embelishments. This was my first go at American Craft's MixTape and I LOVE IT! So fun and easy to work with.
