Have a SWEET Christmas

Hi Everyone! I have a fun quick tutorial on creating backgrounds using stamps over on the Penny Black blog today. Be sure to check it out to see how I created this card.

I was shopping at Crate and Barrel last week (a rare treat with two little kiddos) and noticed a HUGE trend in jewel tones.  I walked away inspired and had to incorpoate them in this card. I love how the tiny bit of purple warms up the whole card.

I have a busy day today with the kids trick or treating at my husbands work and then we'll do it again around the neighborhood on Sunday. I hope you stay safe, warm and dry (it always rains here on Halloween) weekend!

Stamps: Penny Black Ginger Joy, Crystalline

Mama Elephant: October Anniversary Stampede!

It's Mama Elephant Birthday Stampede time!  This is so awesome, right? I'm so excited you've joined me from Stephanie's blog! Today I'm a sharing a lot of stamping goodness! Now that I'm counting, my card uses 4 new Mama Elephant stamp sets ! This card all started with the sentiment. My kids are always buzzing around the house singing and one of their favorite is Everything is Awesome (Lego Movie anyone?). :) I started with a faint pencil line to create AWESOME from the new Block Party Letters . I colored them in with Copics and then did some creative masking and stamping from Happy Everything to add the beginning of the sentiment. Next I stamped the penguin and hat (from the new Artic Penguins ), colored them and die cut them for a perfect cut. The soft, grey striped background was created using the new Boutique Borders . All stamps and dies can be purchased NOW at the Mama Elephant store HERE . Next up? The very talented JJ Bolton !
