Lucy's First Challenge

Hey Everybody! I made this card for Lucy's first card challenge DAYS ago but with the hustle and bustle of the holidays arriving (and crazy kiddos), I'm just getting aroung to posting it. Oh how I love the holidays! Seriously, they are my favorite! Just got the tree up tonight (no wasting time around here!) and lights on the house will go up tomorrow! Yippee! K, so back to my card...Lucy's challenge was to use aqua, pink and kraft. I used one of my favorite Hero Arts owl images. Since the stamped image shows the owl with closed eyes, I added goggly eyes to wake him up! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Materials: Stamps: Hero Arts Sending Happy Thoughts, Cloud Design Block Ink: Memories Black Dye, VersaMark Paper: BoBunny, PTI Other: Hero Arts Flower, Button; Apron Lace Fiskars Punch; String; Nestabilities Label One Die; Cuttlebug

Its A Surprise

Hi Everyone! I've been super busy this past week with new projects that aren't quite ready to share yet. I finally decided to dive in and start scrapbooking my kiddos. I have 27 months to catch up on and thousands of photos! Scary....and fun! Today I have a card to share that is for a friend. Its a surprise and I haven't put it in the mail yet. :) He! I hope she likes it. Oh, check out that birdie. Recognize him? Scroll down to a few posts and you might see him with a winter hat on. :) I also did some hand stitching on this card. It took me a few tries to figure out a technique that I liked. I ended up punching the holes with my sewing machine and then going back with sewing floss by hand. I like the "chunky" look. Have a great day! Materials: Stamps: Hero Arts Lots of Merry, Flourish Design Block, Happy Hello Paper: PTI, BoBunny Ink: VersaMark, Memories Black Dye Other: Hero Arts Pink Pearls, PrismaColor Pencils, Circle & Scallop Nesstabilities, Brown Sewing...

Happy Birthday David!

Happy Birthday David! Thought I'd send you some pumpkin pie way over there across the country in NYC! So my brother (David) is the TRUE artist of the family (but don't call him an artist because that isn't cool). He has a double major in art/art history, trucked himself cross the country after college to live in the hip NY art scene, creates art but doesn't sell it, visits a million galleries a week and keeps up this cool helpful website for art gallery beginners and enthusiasts. So if you live in NY, like contemporary art or just want to check out my brother's cool site visit The Two Percent . Materials: Stamps: Hero Arts Traditional Pumpkin, Whats Cooking, Celebrate All Day Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink, VersaMark, Memories Black Dye Ink Paper: PTI, BoBunny Other: Hero Arts Buttons, Machine Stitching

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 18

Hey Everyone! Its been awhile since I've been able to participate in Dawn 's color challenge. This one was a lot of fun! Love the mix of bright colors with the yummy craft and brown neutrals. The layered label shapes were both cut from my Nestabilities Label One set. The rasberry layer is just the basic shape and then for the cream layer was cut twice. I trimmed the two pieces until I had the longer shape that I wanted then hid the seam behind the craft colored piece. Thanks Dawn! Materials: Stamps: PTI Everyday Button Basics, Polka Dot Basics Paper: PTI Ink: PTI, Memories Black, VersaMark Other: PTI Button, Hero Arts Black Gems, Fiskars Apron Lace Border Punch, Nestabilities Label One

Sunshine in the Fall

Both of the kiddos are sleeping at the same time! Hip hip hooray! It won't last long so here is a quick share... For the small butterfly I taped strips of patterned paper to a solid sheet and then used my Stampin' Up butterfly die cut. The clear butterfly is also a Stampin' up beauty that I stamped with white StazOn. I put dimensional tape under both sets of wings to give her little lift. :) Will add supply list later... Off to create! Have a great day!

Oh Mexico

Hey Everyone! When Nichole from PTI announced a challenge for World Card Making day I knew I wanted to join. The challenge was to make a card influenced by different cultures from around the world. She provided four different countries with tons of inspiration and ideas. The countries were Japan, India, Australia and Mexico . I chose to make a card influenced by Mexico! I just love the bright colorful blankets often associated with Mexico. Their colors are so vibrant and their striped patterns are so recognizable . Thanks for stopping by today! See ya soon! Materials: Stamps: PTI Everyday Button Basics, Polka Dot Basics Paper: PTI Ink: PTI, Memories Black Other: Hero Arts Buttons

Ribbon Pumpkin

Hey Everyone! Happy Monday! Its challenge time over at Caardvarks . What a great way to start the week, huh? This challenge is totally fun! Just create a card using ribbon in a creative way! Are you ready? Here is my first card: I was walking through my local craft store last week and one of their projects caught my eye. They wove ribbon together and used in on a layout. I took this idea and put a little spin on it by placing it behind a pumpkin shape I cut out using my Silhouette. I kept the rest of the card super basic to let the pumpkin shine. Oh, the leaves poking out of the pumpkin are also ribbon. The ribbon I used was from our sponser for this challenge, May Arts . I just love their ribbon. It's always my go to ribbon. Have fun with this challenge! Materials: Stamps: Hero Arts Happy Hello (sentiment) Ink: Memories Black Paper: PTI, Basic Grey Other: May Arts Ribbon, PTI Button, Machine Stitching

Owl ATC

Hey Everyone! Sharing another ATC today. This idea popped in to my head a little earlier today and I had some time this evening to put it together. I stamped the pumpkin, used a circle punch to cut out a hole and then found the perfect owl to nest inside of it. :) Hope you had a great weekend! I have lots to share this week so be sure to check back in. See ya soon! Materials: [Owl ATC] Stamps: Traditional Pumpkin, Love That (for owl), Happy Hello (sentiment) Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, PTI Ink: Memories Black Other: PrismaColor Pencils, Hero Arts Pearls & Black Gems

My First ATC

Hey Everyone! Happy Wednesday! It is Wednesday, right? Its been one of those weeks. Anyways, I'm super excited about this week's Hero Arts challenge....ATCs (artist trading cards)! My creativity has been a little dried up lately and this was just the pick me up I needed! Materials: Stamps: Hero Arts Heart Winged Butterfly, Woodgrain Design Block, Scalloped Borders Ink: Hero Arts Pink Shadow Ink, Peeled Paint Distress Ink, Walnut Stain Distress Ink, Memories Black Paper: PTI, Basic Grey Other: Hero Arts Buttons, Unknown Pom Pom Ribbon

Hi Everyone! Its Sketchfest day two!!! I really enjoyed working with the sketches for this event! I also want to share the card I created for last week's Hero Arts challenge. Well, I've learned pretty much everything I know from the Hero Arts designers so this card is a collection of fun things I've learned over the last year and a half. It also includes my newest learning challenge....copics. For the flower I stamped the pink harringbone patterned, stamped the flower outline, then shaded it all in with three colors of copic markers.
