Paper Smooches June Release

Paper Smooches has an awesome release going live tonight! I'll link it up when the products are in stock.

My first card uses the new Healthy Vibes dies that coordinate with the previously released stamp set (one of my ALL time favorite "get well" sets!). That germ is so fun. I stamped him, die cut it then created a mask to I could sponge on some Distress Ink to fade him from green to white. :) The bandaid with stamped, die cut and then paper pieced. I used watercolor paper and distress markers to create the pink shading. Lots of coloring fun!

Next up I used the new Healthy Vibes dies again PLUS the new Band Aids dies! The soup bowl and spoon are super simple, just stamped on patterned paper, die cut and colored for shading. I die cut the Band Aid from white cardstock and colored it with Copics.

I know you'll love all the dies in the release. Be sure to check them out when they are released tonight, June 1st, at 12:01pm Eastern Time.

Bella Blvd: Mid-Release Collections

Hi Everyone! Today's cards feature Bella Blvd's mid-release collections that are now available! Yay!
These collections are so trendy and so colorful and so easy to work with. They have definitely boosted my creativity. :)

I adore all of the new Wildflower pattern paper in the Summer Squeeze collection. I fussy cut around one of my favorite clusters in the pattern and made my own embellishment. I purposely chose a background with no black so the flowers would pop. The black stars add a fun touch of black to balance it all out but leave the flowers and hearts the star of the show!

The sentiment is a stamp from Mama Elephant's Origami.

I love the black backed sentiments found in the Scattered Sprinkles collection in Treasures & Texts. I was inspired by the sentiment "Let's Face it, You're Awesome". I decided to trim off "awesome" and make it large with alphas. For the background I wanted it to be simple with a twist so I cut panels of patterned paper, adhered the top edge to a card base and used my fingers to curl up the edges.

Little Tangles: Acetate Card Challenge

Hi Everyone! Are you ready for a new challenge?!? :)

The newest Little Tangles challenge is all about acetate! There are SO many things to do with acetate these days....stamp it, make a window, create a shaker....

I got a little creative with this one! That is what a challenge is for, right? I didn't have any acetate cards on hand or Staz On ink to stamp on it.....so I cut up some packaging and made a acetate card front. :)

I love this for a mini card. Sometimes the stamp is just enough for what you need (and isn't this one perfect??) The patterend paper on the card front provides just enough space inside the cards to write a brief message or your name.

I hope you'll join the challenge HERE. I can't wait to see what you create!

Bella Blvd: Pinterest Inspired

Pinterest is still one of the hottest places to find inspiration. A few Bella designers and I used this adorable picture as a starting place to create. You can see all of the projects HERE.

{Image Credit: Thirty Handmade Days}

I couldn't ignore those adorable hearts. I had to make a card centered around that idea first.

I used the new Scattered Sprinkles and Summer Squeeze for this card. I LOVE the black backed sentiments! They are so unique and fun to use. I'll be reaching for those a lot! :)

This card takes a completely different approach. Do you see the wood floor in the picture? I decided to create my own out of Sprinkles paper! I love this background! I tied all the color together with my striped banner and created a fun sentiment with the Treasures & Text letters. All the letters are from Scattered Sprinkles except the pink one which I pulled from the Molly collection. I love how this card turned out!

Crate Paper: Journaling Cards

Journaling cards are so trendy in paper crafting and they are so easy to use. Not only do they work great for pocket scrapbooking, but they look great on cards and boxes too! I have a few fun projects to show you. Let's get started!
Crate Paper | Ashley Marcu | Explore via Open Road
For my first project, a journaling card makes a perfect focal point for my card, but it also has a purpose–it holds a gift card! With Father's Day just around the corner as well as retirements, birthdays and graduations, it's nice to have a place to hold a gift card that is on the front of a card.

When I make cards like this, I always put a little note inside to make sure the recipient doesn't miss the gift. The speed limit sign can also be customized to fit the occasion. Fun, right?!

For my next card, I was specifically thinking about all those graduation ceremonies just around the corner. This time I layered two journaling cards and die cut half of a circle out of the top card in the center. Strong adhesive holds both sides and the bottom to create a simple pocket.

There are so many fun words and tags to cut out of the Road Map 12" x 12" paper. For my card, instead of focusing on trimming one word or phrase, I cut out a whole stripe and ultimately felt it added a fun, trendy billboard background feel.

Journaling cards are also great as tags or box/bag toppers! To make this cute box, I simply tied some twine around a plain kraft colored box with a doily just beneath it. I then had fun picking letters from the new Highway Thickers to layer on top a matching journaling card.

The final step was choosing embellishments, which is similar to selecting the perfect accessories for an outfit.  I found a cute banner, sticker and feather from the Open Road collection and added them to the card. Not only do the colors compliment the gift box, but they add a bit of whimsy as well!

I hope to have inspired you to think outside the box when using journaling cards (literally). I definitely plan to create with them again in the near future!

Now, it's time to show you my card! I used the new Kitschy Kitchen stamp set with coordinating dies. This is SUCH an amazing set. I also used the previously released Bookmark Dies.

Xyron adhesives were the perfect way to add a little sparkle to my card. After I stamped and die cut my tea pot I ran it through the Xyron create-a-sticker to add adhesive to the TOP of my image. Then I took clear ultra fine glitter, sprinkled it on and pushed it in to the adhesve. Instant glitter! Next, I wanted to add a little more glitter so I ran some Double-Sided High Tack Tape on the left side of my card and used the same technique to add more of the same glitter. Finally, Xyron's Adhesive Dots are a great way to adhere small embellishments, like the bow I added to the bookmark die. :) I really enjoyed working with the Xyron adhesives this month! They are high quality, fun and all opinions are my own. :)
