You're Sew Special

Hi Everyone! Happy Memorial Day weekend! I created this card for Lucy's Digi Challenge. I've been wanting to try this Hero Arts DigiKit so her challenge was a good opportunity.

I paper pieced the sewing machine with a mix of patterned and solid card stock. I used colored pencils to add a touch of shading. The card stock fabric was hand cut with a slight taper toward the machine and a wave at the bottom. I threaded the machine with red embroidery floss and then continued it with three stitches on the card stock fabric. To create the stitches I pierced the card stock with my actual sewing machine then hand stitched the floss. I finished up the card with a few black gems, black machine stitching and a big glossy red button.

A Butterfly Thank You

Hi Everyone! Every once in awhile I really enjoying digging in to some of my older stamps.

This Thank You Design Block was one of my first background stamps and boy do I love it! I had to look back in my blog quite a ways to find some oldies using this stamp. Check 'em out HERE.

This card also started me off on my addiction to felt! It's one of those trends I've been wanting to try. This is some cheap felt from JoAnns but I was rather impressed with how it cut! You are sure to see a lot more felt on my cards in the future!

I created the button by layering a punched circle and an epoxy dome sticker. I then punched two little holes with my Crop-A-Dile.

You're So Tweet

Hi Everyone! Here is a card I created using the Taylored Expressions Sketch #114. I flipped the sketch to work with my stamps. I used lots of spotlighting just to try a little something different with the image.

The sentiment usually reads "You're so sweet" but with a little patience I changed it to "You're so tweet". I inked up the stamp, used a baby wipe to erase the "s", stamped it, then just inked the "t" and filled in the blank. Ta da!

Beetle Bug Birthday Card

Hi Everyone! I have another birthday card to share today. My 2 1/2 year old son calls these cars "beetle bugs" and when he saw this card he said "is this for me's?". He is a funny little guy.

I created this scene by layering several different green Papertrey Ink cardstock colors. The car was inked using a combination of ColorBox Chalk Inks and is up on dimensional tape. I also really like all the button strings I've seen lately so I had to try that myself!

Hi Everyone! I created this card today for my friend's birthday. Happy Birthday Courtney!

This card inspired by a card layout Lucy did on the Hero Arts blog. Thanks for the inspiration Lucy!

This card uses several stamp sets from Papertrey Ink including Cupcake Collection, Polka Dot Basics II and Enjoy the Ride.

The scallops were cut with the Papertrey Ink medium scallop die and the scallop hill and circle were cut with Nestabilities. All paper is from Papertrey Ink.

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to pop in and share some exciting news! My brother is the founder and CEO of an award winning software company that created an amazingly easy and fun piece of software for making timelines. This picture shows the print of the timeline he created. Recognize those cards? I sure do! For today's card I had more fun coloring my Hero Art's Large Flower image with white colored pencils. I also had some fun with my medium Papertrey Ink scallop die cut. I cut the die out twice then used the solid scallop and the polka dot negative scallop but pulled them apart just slightly. I LOOOOOVE it! :)

The sentiment is from Scattered Showers and the papers, twine and button are from Papertrey Ink.

Showers of Blessings

Hey Everyone! Just a quick post tonight. This is a card that I created for some good friends that just had a sweet little baby girl.

I stamped the card using Papertrey Ink's Scattered Showers and Polka Dot Basics II. The umberella's were stamped on AMuse patterned paper that I LOVE.

All solid cardstock and buttons are PTI.

Go-to Gal Designer Challenge #1

Happy Monday Everyone! I'm in a sketch sorta groove right now. I adore Betsy Velman's style so when I saw the first ever Go-to Gal Sketch challenge on her blog I was immediately up for the challenge.

This unique sketch kept me up at night...seriously...thinking, thinking, thinking..."what will I do"....and then it came to me... :)

I used Papertrey Ink's Enjoy the Ride and Bird Watching Additions along with the best Hero Art's background stamps Clouds and Designer Woodgrain. I love mixing and matching PTI with Hero Arts. :)

I'll definatley be back to use this sketch again. Thanks Betsy!

Taylored Expressions Sketch #111

Hi Everyone! When I saw Taylor's sketch this week I just had to play! Sketches are SO inspirational to me. :) Here is her fun sketch...

A fun sketch calls for fun stamps, right? For my card I used Papertrey Ink's A Little Argyle and Wonderfully Whimsical.

The focal point was cut out using my circle and scalloped circle Nestabilites. The house was colored with my Copics and the sign and hill were paper pieced. The background has the subtle tone on tone diamond pattern and the yellow scalloped edge (PTI's medium scallop die cut) adds to the whimsy. I finished the card off with a few buttons and some machine stitching.

All paper is Papertrey Ink and the buttons are Hero Arts.
