Sending Birthday Wishes

Hi Everyone! Happy May Day! First I want to say hello to my new followers. :) I really do appreciate all of you that read my blog, get email updates, follow and especially leave comments! For today's cards I used Polka Dot Basics II , Wishing You and Everyday Button Bits (for the setiment) from Papertrey Ink. There are lots of little details on this card. I scored a lattice design on the Aqua Mist card stock and curled out the top of the tulips to bring them to life. The focal point was cut out with Nestabilities Label One. Since I wanted it a little bit longer, I cut it out twice, trimmed down the second piece, taped them together, then covered the seem with buttons. I finished the card with a black scallop trim piece and some black machine stitching. All ink, paper and buttons are PTI. Hope you have a great day and are enjoying your weekend!

Hope You're Feeling Better

Hi Everyone! A few posts ago I mentioned that I've been using my Everyday Button Bits set more. Here is another card using that wonderful set! I often stack my cardstock while I'm trying to decide what colors I want to use. On this card, I liked the way they were stacked so much that I cut them out just as I had them laying out. I created the hill with my Marvy Giga Scallop punch in Papertrey Ink's Ripe Avocado to ground the springy colors (Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, Spring Moss and Hibiscus Burst) just a bit. Finally, buttons were added to complement the color sceme. All buttons are PTI except the pink one which is by Basic Grey.

More Woodgrain

Hi Everyone! I have another woodgrain card to share with you tonight. Let me tell you something...once I get that stamp out I just can't put it away! I'm a little bit of a woodgrain addict. :) To go with my woodgrain background I got out my "old" Stampin Up butterfly die cuts and layered them using AMuse paper. I needed a pop so I used some BoBunny polka dot paper paired with a lot of my favorite Papertrey Ink cardstock. Buttons, twine and scallop die cut are also PTI. I finished the card off with a simple thanks sentiment from Hero Arts. Finally, I want to share my FAVORITE new crafting website. I know of Kiki through a friend. I've never met her but think the world of her. She just started a blog and Esty shop and I'm enjoying all of it!!! You'll especially enjoy her craftiness if you've got little kiddos. ;) Have a great day!

Enjoy the Ride

Hi Everyone! Today I want to share a card with you that was just featured in the CARDS blog. You can see it HERE . The challenge was to use woodgrain so I picked up my favorite Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain stamp and added it as a backdrop to my little bicycle scene. The clouds are scallop punches, cut roughly in half and then distressed with light blue chalk ink. I got this idea from Betsy Veldman . She used her scallop pieces to mask. Genius! The bike and sentiment are from Everyday Button Bits . I gently curved the sentiment then cut the banner around it to fit. I also used the Rickrack die to make the grass and added some black stitching to finish it off. All paper and buttons are Papertrey ink. Hope you have a great day!

Earth Day Birthday

Happy Earth Day! Today my sweet little baby girl turned one! So before I share my cards today I just wanted to share her cute little picture. :) Here are the invitations I made for her party. Simple and fun...easy to mass produce. The hardest part was cutting out the birds and I did that while watching TV. They were stamped using Bird Watching Additions and Polka Dot Basics II . I love this format for invitations. Especially for the kiddos. That way proud grandparents and friends can post them on the refrigerators and they look nice in the baby books and scrapbooks. :) I made this card with some of the scrap pieces from the invitations. I also love the unexpected use of Take Note . I purchased the PTI set to make altered notepads but it worked perfectly for my lined circle. The card was finished with a few PTI buttons and a setiment from Scattered Showers . All paper and colored ink is also PTI goodness. Hope you have a great day!

Make A Wish

Happy Wednesday! I have a fun birthday card to share with you today. I used two of my favorite birthday sets. The cupcake is from the PTI Cupcake Collection and the sentiment is from Hero Arts Celebrate All Day . I don't have any PTI ribbon (yet) so I looped some paper at the top of the focal mat to add some interest. :) The cupcake was colored with Copics and then frosted with glitter. I also have been experimenting with using colored card bases. I usually always use a white or off white card base but I thought I'd change it up a bit. Finally I added a few coordinating PTI buttons and added a scallop edge (PTI small scallop border die cut). Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!

You're So Sweet

Hi Everyone! I'm back from a little blog break and am excited to share more cards with you. I've been so inspired by my new and old Papertrey Ink stamps and goodies lately. Everyday Button Bits was one of those sets that I fell in love with from the minute it was released. I've used it here and there but I think you'll notice over the next few days that now I'm using it A LOT. The background of this card has a simple lattice design I created using embroidery floss. To create this look I scored the lines one inch apart, cut small notches where the lines touched the edge, then simply laid down the floss and taped it on back. I stamped Text Style on the white mat, ink distressed the edges and added some Ric Rac using my new favorite die cut at the bottom. Thanks for stopping by! Your comments are appreciated as always!
