Lots O' Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm on a roll with Birthday cards and only have a few more to make. Both of these cards took me under an hour to make thanks to some fun animal stamps that provided all the inspiration I needed.

I used two new products in this card that I love love love! The owl stamp I picked up at AMuse back when I had my class a few months ago. Aren't they the cutest? I also used the new Fiskars border punch. Scallop borders are still my favorite but this new punch is simply fabulous!

Materials: Hero Arts Stamp (Raindrop Background), AMuse Stamps (Happy Birthday MA, Owl Buddies), Fiskars Border Punch, Hero Arts Buttons, PrismaColor Pencils.

I had fun with several patterns on this card. I've been in to thin strips of paper and setiments on tabs lately, can you tell? :)

Materials: Hero Arts Stamps (Sending Happy Thoughts, Live it Up, Raindrop Background, Screen Shadow), Hero Arts button, PrismaColor Pencils, ColorBox Chalk Ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 1

What a treat to have another fun color challenge to work with! Thanks Dawn! Her cards always have the best colors so be sure to check out her blog and get in on the fun.

I've been wanting to create this butterfly for a long time and I'm glad I finally found the right card to try it out on.

The antennae is made from a fine gage wire. I wrapped it around the tip of a pencil to get the curve started. So fun and easy! I love finding new ways to use materials that have been collecting dust in my craft box for years! :)

Materials: Hero Arts (Many Hearts, Anytime Messages), Ribbon, SU Scallop Border Punch, ColorBox Chalk Ink, PrismaColor Pencils, Wire.

Time to go peek at what others created for the challenge. Have a great day!

Tres Chic-kie

Happy Sunday everybody! I didn't think I'd be entering this week's Hero Arts challenge but I was reading through my favorite blogs yesterday and was totally inspired by Jennifer Holmes. Love when that happens! Within a few hours I had this card put together.

I had fun adding a few extra details. I curled the beak around a pencil to make it curve. Then put two layers of dimensional tape under the middle to support the shape. I also made accordion feet. These can fold flat for mailing. :)

Materials: Hero Arts Stamps (Basic Lower & Upper Case Letters, Wavy Leaf Pattern, Many Hearts), Hero Arts Flowers, Hero Arts Button and Gems, Black Buttons, BoBunny Paper, String.

Have a great day!

Kristina Werner's Challenge #45

Hi Everyone! Hope you had a good week. I've been busy with sewing projects and general to-dos before baby comes. We are moving Nick from his baby room to his new big boy room. The nursery is now in an odd transition with half boy stuff and half girl stuff. :) I'm looking forward to both rooms being done. Any tips on getting an 18 month old to sleep in a twin bed!?!?! Its going to be a fun couple of months ahead....

I had to take a break from sewing and play with Kristina's color challenge this week. I love using color so this one took me a few trys.

Materials: All Hero Arts stamps, Hero Arts buttons, Nestabilities Label One Die Cut, String, Ribbon, Machine Stitching, BoBunny Paper.

Thanks for checking in! Have a great week!

Special & Simple

This card finished far far away from where it started. How did a onesie with an elephant turn in to this? Hmmm, sometime you just have to go with the flow. :)

Although the theme changed I did stick with Kristina's Colors and the Hero Arts Little Things challenge.

I also was inspired by the CPS sketch this week.

I hope you have a great weekend. I am looking forward to my baby shower today! Can't wait to see all my friends and girly baby things!!! I also might undergo a little sewing project this week. I'll share it in a week or so if things go well. :) Wish me luck!

Color Splash

I've been so inspired lately by so many different blogs. Lisa Johnson, Nichole Heady and Dawn McVey to name a few. Sometimes their cards just blow me away. So after a lot of browsing I was really excited to get in my craft room to create.

My son is also totally in to coloring these days. I love that he can color while I'm crafting. Just makes it that much better.

Materials: Hero Arts Stamps (Dot Flourishes), American Crafts Ribbon, BoBunny Paper, PrismaColor Pencils, Pom Poms, Hero Arts Buttons.

Kristina Werner's Challenge #43

Once again Kristina Werner provided a color challenge that was just too tempting to pass up!

I had a chance to use the new Hero Arts grid stamp (its already a favorite) and their new yummy shadow inks. They start out dark when you first stamp them and then the soften in to the paper. A great background look!

Hope you have a great Sunday!
